How does it work?

When exposed to intense pulse light, your skin cells absorb light energy and converts it into heat. The heat destroys pigment clearing up the pigmentation, redness, or broken capillaries. The pigment is then naturally broken down and processed by the body before being eliminated. On the other hand, the heat causes collagen contraction and controlled dermal micro-wounding which help to simulate tissue repair and skin rejuvenation for a tighter younger and more even complexion.

When are results noticeable?

After the first two sessions, you should notice significant hair reduction. However, everybody is different and we recommend a full course to notice optimum results.
For best IPL results, we generally recommend 3 to 6 treatments scheduled four weeks apart. Your specialist will assess and recommend the ideal treatment plan for your individual needs.

procedure step-by-step

The first step is a complimentary consultation with one of our medical aesthetic consultants. We will discuss your concerns and explain your desirable results. We will explain the treatment thoroughly, take your full medical history and book you in for a patch test to ensure you are a suitable candidate for the treatment.

Before your treatment, your skin must be perfectly clean, without lotions, oils, creams, or fragrances. Your therapist will perform a patch test at least 24 hours before the treatment to ensure your skin doesn’t react to the IPL. You will also be informed on all the pre-treatment requirements to follow to ensure you are prepared.

Your therapist will thoroughly cleanse your skin prior the procedure. The treatment will give a warming sensation as the IPL moves along the area of treatment.

You may experience some redness on the skin after treatment, lasting no longer than 48 hours. We advise avoiding direct sunlight and heat treatments for up to 24 hours after. We also recommend you wear SPF on areas that cannot be covered up.
